I wish i had a camera that would work in low light

2nd week in Birmingham.... After being out in the garden for the afternoon and being told stories of various critters that visit the garden.

J:  "Hunni, there's foxes in the garden!!!"
I, at the time 7 and 1/2 months pregnant, rushed through into the kitchen to look out the window and into the garden.
J points out little fox statues that were carefully placed in a lovely spot earlier in the day....

a few weeks later....

J: "there's a hedgehog in the garden, Quick before it disappears!!"
Again, I rush into the kitchen excited to see said hedgehog..... this time not long out of the shower so had a towel round my head and only just managed to get 1 of 2 socks on (its not so easy when you've got a bump)...... It was another statue in the garden which was put out the day before, but had not been noticed by myself yet.....  you can imagine the language that came out of my mouth....

Last night.... around 10 pm....

J: "Bats in the garden"....
Sleepily, I looked at him confused.....he was serious...... 3 Bats fluttering around in the garden!!!!!
Watching the magic in the very faint light of day, the solar lights that twinkled around the garden and my favorite winged creatures of the world fluttering around.  They didn't get close enough to find out what kind of Bat they were..... and I watched ALL THAT from my bedroom window!!!... I may be up watching them again tonight... If I don't fall asleep first.

TAH DAH.. i promiced photos...!!!!!!

Here are a couple of my favorite projects I have made over the last few weeks of being in Birmingham.!
.... the greeny/ blue pair was my 2nd attempt at making booties. and the brown were the 3rd...(just need to tidy up the loose ends inside the brown ones)

little hats to match said booties...ad the teddy bank has roughly £15 in it already.. and theres still 11 days till due date... Baby is richer than me!!!!!

Ah, Meet "Benny" the transvestite bear. A gift from "Benny", a friend from childhood, has been a mascot at college and has had many a dress and funky hats,  bows and other accesories over the years (he goes more or less everywhere with me) now fashioning a new little skirt and flower badge... and his new little handmade friend George who was made for J, who wants to share it with baby, he even has a fluffy white tail.!

other than that...

Little to be mummy here is on a week trial of blood tests. Nothing to worry about, Just a couple of high sugar level readings...
most of it does boil down to me being a little bit of a sweet tooth.. but it is mostly fruit these days and a small amount of chocky here and there too (2 or 3 cubes). Not as bad as I was this time a year ago when I could gobble a cheesecake to myself in 1 sitting if given half a chance. Though that does still sound tempting.
But it is Amazing to see how much sugar is in fruit, even if it is natural and good for me.

Aprox 11 sleeps till baby's due date.... I guess now is just a waiting game?

4 weeks to go!!!!!

4 weeks till my baby "wiggle "is due....  (June 10th) and today, with a little help, well a lot of help off of J. I managed somehow to organise all baby stuff into a new chest of draws.
J is shocked how small you can get baby nappies and mitts...
All packed into 3 big deep draws is a range from bathing towels flannels and 1 or 2 toys for when she is bigger.... changing and cleaning bits and bobs  and a wide range of wardrobe ranged between 0-12 months old (bigger stuff in the bottom draw).... home made blankies and cardies made by Nany Lou (Manx girl), a neighbour and myself.
J cant wait for her to arrive. He has that sparkling eye look and goes all giddy when holding a teddy or "wiggle's" clothes... He was determined to be the one to place clothes in the draws.
Also pram is in safe place, nicknamed the "chealsea tractor" (posh range rover), because it has everything, car seat included. It is considered bad luck to have the pram in the house until baby is born.
Baby's bed is all set up, all bottles ect..  at the ready... and "the bag" (its big enough) is ready with pregnancy notes in handbag at all times....

I think I'm as set as I'm going to get....  eeek!!!!!
