scones and playtime

At 10 weeks old with the sniffles and a true red head temperament, my darling pad'a'one is up to her usual tricks of wanting lots of fuss and playtime.. I'm surprised that I even managed to make scones.

... This morning.....the coast was clear...  safe to bake! Belly full of milk and gets cuddles until sound asleep.

This photo was supposed to be landscape. This little man and his pot of jam is what greets me on the scone page of my vintage recipe book.

Just after I had weighed and prepared everything, greased the tin and just about to add the wet ingredients to the bowl... someone stirs... "Hello Paddy, you going to help mummy??" Faith gurgles in reply and all the way through baking there's lots of smiles, high pitched squeaks and more gurgles as she tells mummy stories.

The smell from the oven was making my mouth water whilst I washed the dishes and gave faith bounces in her chair as she watches the washing machine spin away. They look as good as they smell... waiting for Molei to come home with some cream to whip up... I think I have tonight's pudding sorted. There's a feeling they won't last even half the time the marble cakes did.

Monday play time... Elmo goes most places with her, pram, bed, play mat and often in her chair... he gets some abuse bless him, but loved to bits

this was yesterday (Tuesday) playing on her tummy like a big girl... oo I'm so proud of my clever girl.

and again, on her tummy giving mummy smiles and gurgles.

more cuddles for Elmo... see how her other toys are all to the side??  only books Elmo and Princess's Belle, Merida, and Sofia (who are new. she is collecting Disney soft princesses) will do. "Fusspot"

"give Elmo kisses"... so she does... and slobbers and chews then grins about it!

last night holding her head up on her own, but using mummy as an arm chair, she watched the telly with me till she fell asleep. such a clever girl.

carrot cakes and lingering thoughts.

The tattoo is healed, there are already thoughts towards the next one.
The Humming bird signifies "free spirit", my lil' Pad'a'one.
Thoughts head towards "our" Guardian angels, Nana Diane and Nana Margret in the form of Butterflies... still wondering colours, though may keep in the blues greens and yellows. Will be thinking for just a little longer.

Pad'a'one, just awake looking very soulful. Teething is taking it's toll on the poor thing, she can't keep a Dodie ( dummy / pacifier ) in her mouth on her own and finds it hard to hold her teething ring for much more than a minute.

"Mine!!" her teething ring getting abused while mummy does dishes. it soon drops onto the chair and the obligatory cries start. then the whole sequence starts again. (head hurts from using big words... oh dear, I seem to have been chewing on a thesaurus).

Mini Carrot cakes!! All gone!!!! They didn't last long at all. will have to make more.
vanilla and blueberry anyone??

This is Moshchops III, resident squirrel that frequents the garden out the front of the flat, I often see him scurry about then back up into his tree. there's also a hedgehog wonders along the footpath and recently a fox wonders through the garden at night. He/she is very skittish but beautiful, I wonder if there are cubs nearby.

happy baby and time to scribble

I feel a little more human after a scribble and being scribbled on...  and little miss is as close to back to herself as she can get... chewing away on anything she can grasp on her own.
... And I managed it all on my own. well   With the help of a tattoo artist...
A Humming Bird my symbol for Faith, a little free spirit.

and speaking of free spirits... here she is.. as alert and clever as can be on her brand new blanket lots of love from Nana Lou.

then she has a kip with betty.

and the last few days doodles... it's taken a few days between naptimes and house work....

and here's one I'm working on now...

Saturday 3 August 2013

nearly 2 months old!

Tomorrow, my little girl will be 8 weeks old. She has started teething early, and so the tantrums and chewing on everything begins.... well if she could hold things on her old, she chews on her fingers or bib when I'm not holding her bottle, dodey (dummy) or one of her chew friendly toys to her mouth for her, she even chews mummy's clothes when getting cuddles.

During leg excersises....

one of her new best friends.. "Clanger" he even whistles

kipping with Animal and Betty in her Hoop ready to go out, waiting for mummy to get ready.

One clingy baby kipping on mummy's lap.. the moment I put her down... she was no longer quiet, my top didn't last long either...lol

Ready for the Zoo.... goodness knows what made her go cross eyed.

the Zoo!!

Today we have been to Dudley Zoo..... This is the first time I have been to a real Zoo. I say this because I don't consider The Wildlife Park on the Isle of Man as a Zoo, the closest to a big cat there is a Lynx and they don't have Giraffes or a castle ruins setting its scene.

these little critters get everywhere, there were loads of meerkat pups all over the enclosure.

this wallaby was trying to hide in the shade. but had a lot of children making a lot of noise near by.... I don't think he was impressed.

the highest peak of the castle ruins and Zoo.

meet Benji, this Urangutan has been here for years. he was happily watching everyone pass by. not even a peep out of him even with a small toddler screaming his lungs out.

this beautiful pair were gorgeous. I wish I could have a pet giraffe....

and the lazy Lions having a midday nap, too far away from the public to be bothered. that and the spot to get a closer look was packed.

the weather stayed nice too....
